In terms of rendering, 3ds Max is certainly not the most acclaimed 3D rendering software. But nobody can deny the popularity of 3ds Max. While many users have switched to more realistic renderers like V-Ray and Mental Ray, Max still has a renderer on board that can still be used in an emergency. Similar to Modo and Cinema 4D, 3ds Max has a renderer that works in conjunction with the 3D modeling software. One of the biggest advantages of 3ds Max is that it works well with other Autodesk products such as AutoCAD and Revit.
