Every developer knows the challenges that arise when it comes to achieving compatibility of data formats with different devices. For this reason, we would like to present an API in this article that allows 3D content like 3D configurators to be easily integrated into one`s own website or used with different Augmented Reality (AR) or Virtual Reality (VR) devices.
From now on, developers can stop worrying about some content not being compatible with the different VR/AR devices. Cappasity will allow developers to embed different formats of 3D content and automatically optimize them for the target device. The Cappasity team plans to introduce an API to solve data import problems, including an interface to create a load module for any 3D data format.
The Cappasity platform supports a variety of 3D model formats. Cappasity`s proprietary formats (3D view and 3D Hologram) have been developed to ensure easy exchange and embedding of 3D images in Web sites and AR/VR applications. 3D View is designed for websites and mobile applications, and 3D Hologram works better for AR/VR applications and devices. To support correct formats in other development environments such as Unity and Unreal Engine, developers are provided with the appropriate plugins. In addition, imported 3D model formats can be easily converted to 3D view or 3D holograms for embedding and sharing.
Today, the Cappasity platform supports the most popular formats such as .obj or .stl, and the list continues to evolve. In addition, a 360 degree video support is planned.
Developers can easily connect their SDK to the Cappasity platform. So the developers with their own solutions will easily be able to build partnerships with the Cappasity ecosystem. In addition, prizes will be awarded for the most groundbreaking SDKs and apps and the money will come from the AR/VR Innovation Fund, which makes up a large portion of the token sales.
As an example of a succesful integration, we present JointApp with connection to the Cappasity platform, which enables the use of 3D view in mobile messaging. Before the token sale, we will upload a decription of our API and use cases for web and mobile devices to GitHub.
Opportunities for the use of 3D content in business and entertainment have yet to be explored and Cappasity offers a good way to join forces and multiply the benefits for consumers, developers and content managers.
