GrabCAD is a community of professional designers, engineers, manufacturers and students. It includes a free CAD library, tutorials and interaction options such as forum. To use the GrabCAD community is also very useful in the creation of 3D configurators.
In this article, GrabCAD community member Ersin Karakoc talks aboutb his experience with the platform so far.
Ersin Karakoc has a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He currently works as a mechanical engineer at SunWorks in Sivas, Turkey. He has been a member of the GrabCAD community since May 2016.
What attracted you to the GrabCAD community?
I heard about the GrabCAD community from my good friend Hasan Sarigül, who has been a member since 2012.
What do you like most about the membership so far?
I like the fact that you can communicate with engineers from all over the world. I am a communicative person who loves meeting people, so the opportunity to talk the engineers from all over the world makes me very happy. In enjoy getting to know other members` modeling methods, sharing comments and technical experiences. I also like that you can always find any model you need in the GrabCAD community.
What have you learned since joining the community?
- You can always find help from other members when working on a project.
- By sharing my own models, I can provide other designers and engineers with models or inspiration for their conceptual solution.
- It`s nice to be part of such a large community where you can always look for help and see different solutions. Since I work as a 3D CAD designer, I always have to see something different and learn something new.
Who are your favorite members or some of your favorite models?
For me, there is no such thing as my favorite member. All members of the community contribute by sharing their models, no matter how simple or complicated they are. I can thank my friend Hasan Sarigül who introduced me to this huge engineering community and of course there is Mesut aka MAB who always cheers you up with a nice comment or a private message.
What is your favorit model that you designed and put into the community?
If I had choose a model, it could be the Tofas Murat. There are a lot of details on it and maybe I actually put the most effort and design skills on it.
