Microsoft plans to present its HoloLens 2 headset later this year. With the HoloLens 2 headset you can view wonderful 3D configurators. Sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans report that the software publisher is tentatively planning to reveal some details about the next version of HoloLens in the second half of 2018, similar to the launch of the Surface Hub 2. The HoloLens 2 headset codenamed Sydney will provide an improved field of vision and will be much lighter and more comfortable to wear. Microsoft is also reducing the cost of the headset to increase business adoption.
It is known that Microsoft has tested future versions of its HoloLens headset with an ARM-based processor that extends battery life. Google has also reportedly built its own ARM-based augmented reality headset. The HoloLens 2 will also include the latest generation of Microsoft’s Kinect sensor as well as a custom AI chip to enhance performance. Microsoft also plans to release HoloLens 2 in 2019, and the company is well on its way to achieving this goal.
Microsoft’s HoloLens 2 will also include a variant of Windows 10, similar to the existing headset and specifically designed for its mixed reality applications. It is part of Microsoft’s modes for smart hardware plans, alongside the Surface Hub 2 and a potential Surface brand notepad device (codenamed Andromeda).
