Unity announced a powerful addition to its Creative tool (for example to create a 3D configurator) suite a few months ago: TextMesh Pro and its developer, Stephan Bouchard, have joined Unity.
TextMesh Pro is a replacement for Unity`s existing text components such as TextMesh and UI Text. TextMesh pro uses Signed Distance Field (SDF) as its primary text rendering pipeline, which makes it possible to render rext cleanly at any point size and resolution. TextMesh Pro allows you to dynamically change the visual appearance of text by simply changing the material properties to add visual styles such as Dilatation, Soft Shadow, Chamfer, Textures, Glow etc. and save and recall these visual styles by creating and using material presets.
The following video shows hoy you can use TextMesh Pro to create razor-sharpe text:
TextMesh Pro offers improved control over text layout and formatting. It also gives users control over character, word, line and paragraph spacing, support for kerning and basic hyphenation, and additional text alignment modes such as Justified and Flush Text. There are also over 30 rich text tags available, giving the user control over margins, indentations, custom styles, links, and even support for using multiple fonts and graphics inline with the text.

Unity has already begun integrating the functionality of TextMesh Pro into Unity 2017 and the asset will continue to be optimized with regular updates in functionality and compatibility to ensure seamless usage for TextMesh Pro users.
