We are constantly interacting with images on our screens. We scroll, we tap and we pinch to zoom. But what if you could virtually transport yourself into the image and experience it as if you were right in the middle?

Flickr VR app

Flickr`s VR app, Flickr VR, does just that. The app works with Samsung Galaxy smartphones and the Samsung Gear VR, so you can view Flickr images in a stunning 360-degree experience.

To install the app, connect your smartphone to the Gear VR, click on the Store tab at the bottom of Oculus Home and delete until you find the Flickr VR app.

On the home page of the app you will see a carousel of 360-degree images of Flickr curated above, Flickr`s chief engineer Betrand Fan wrote in a post to the announcement of the app. When you select an image, you are immediately in a different location at a different time.

Surround yourself with the glamour of the Andalusian night sky or head to Horseshoe on the Colorado River in Arizona. Fan was delighted to hear a few months ago that Flickr users uploaded tens of thousands of 360-degree photos.
